Aerial photography is a rich source of geographic information, supporting research, planning, discussion, decision making and instruction in all manner of activity related to the land and the environment.
Photogrammetry, or stereo mapping, from aerial photography provides accurate and cost effective identification and measurement of terrain and topographic features, significantly reducing the need for field survey.
Orthophotos combine the visual information of aerial photography with the positional and scale accuracy of a map. They can be used on their own or in conjunction with mapping or other land information in a geographic information system (GIS), where they provide an extensive amount of visual data in an easy to interpret and cost effective manner.
AAMS’s experienced and dedicated photogrammetrists use high precision analytical stereo plotters and digital photogrammetric workstations.
AAMS performs the full range of photogrammetric services:
- Aerial triangulation
- Digital elevation model capture
- Stereo edit of LIDAR DEM
- Contour mapping
- Topographic feature mapping
- Orthophoto production
- Delivery of final GIS-ready data files
And has experience in a wide range of requirements, including:
- Topographic map update
- Flood analysis
- Highway engineering
- Mining and quarrying
- Urban management and planning
- Landscape visualization
- Telecommunications modelling
Mapping is typically supplied as digital data suitable for GIS or CAD. AAMS’s GIS data services include a number of tools to ensure easy integration of data. A number of data formats and supply media are supported. A number of example outputs are available on our Sample Data page.
Maps and orthophotos can also be printed to a variety of media, Contact us for more information.
